Tuur also defeated Kenyan John Wanjau and Great Britain’s David Anderson before being defeated by Romanian Daniel Dumitrescu who won the silver medal. Tuur turned professional in 1989 and won the World Boxing Organisation world title in 1994 when he defeated Eugene Speed. He made his professional debut in July 1989 and defeated Daniel Pantoja. Tuur ended his career with a win over Jimmy Zeikle in May 2002.
